Magic Primer
Thank
you for your interest in the metro
BLACK MAGIC SC.
This primer has been prepared in hopes that
it will familiarize you with our program and help you to make informed choices
about your family’s soccer future.
Our GOALS are
to foster your child's love for the game by providing an advanced level
of soccer and fitness training in an atmosphere that encourages responsibility,
comraderie and fun. We build solid foundations of proper technical skill
and tactical awareness, and our players compete at the highest possible
level.
Our
COACHING STYLE
relies on positive reinforcement, humor and non-stressful, low volume critical
feedback. We do our instructing in practice where players’ attention
can be concentrated on skill building. We refrain from instructing players
on the field during a game unless the directions are for positioning, attentiveness,
or encouragement to meet a challenge. Our belief is that players mature
only when she or he is capable of making their own decisions and we encourage
all players to rely on each other, as well as the coach.
To be a member of our club the player must make a year long COMMITMENT
to grow as a player and a teammate. To do that, one must
arrive on time, in the right frame of mind, and be prepared to work 100%
at every practice, game, and tournament. Every attempt is made to accommodate
the fact that our players are involved in activities in addition to club
soccer, yet membership on our club represents a commitment to be part of
a team. As such there is an expectation that our players prioritize Black
Magic activities and will be responsible for communicating well in advance
to their coaches with respect to conflicts. Membership on a team is for
the entire year.
